The Delaware Gazette, founded in 1818 and published daily since 1884, provides newspaper coverage of Delaware County and the surrounding area, as well as national and international news. The Sunbury News is a weekly paper serving the eastern portion of the county. This Week in Delaware, delivered free, carries local news and advertising. Residents can receive home delivery of The Columbus Dispatch, and may purchase other major city newspapers on the newsstand. Local radio station 1550 WDLR is a 24-hour full service radio station that broadcasts local high school sports and Ohio State sports along with news and weather. During the school year, students at Ohio Wesleyan broadcast news and music on WSLN FM, the university station. Columbus media includes four network television stations. Time Warner Cable is also available in the area, and provides the Ohio News Network (ONN) as well as Cable News Network (CNN).
The InternetDelaware is covered well when it comes to Internet services. Time Warner's Road Runner service delivers high bandwidth service to Delaware residents through cable modem, which allows people to be online without tying up their telephone line. The service delivers web content at speeds of up to 1 Mbps, and was recently ranked highest in overall customer satisfaction among high-speed Internet providers. Delaware's business community is served by two high-bandwidth service providers. Time Warner's Road Runner Business Class provides download speeds of up to 3 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 768 Kbps through the use of an installed router. Ameritech, a baby bell company, offers DSL service to parts of the area. Delaware also offers several services for dialup users. Services providing 56 Kbps modem service are: America Online, MidOhio.Net, and DelNet.

Located in a modern building on West Winter street, the Delaware County District Library houses over 100,000 print items, including books and paperbacks, and over 7,000 non-print materials, such as compact discs, computer software, 16 mm films and video cassettes. The library also has materials for adult readers, over 200 magazine subscriptions, public computers, copier and FAX machines, and large print books, Talking Books and magnifiers for visually-handicapped readers. In addition to story hours at the library and book talks in the schools, a 35-foot bookmobile serves outlying areas and schools. The library operates a branch library in Ostrander and a branch in Powell. The Community Library in Sunbury serves the Big Walnut community in eastern Delaware County. Along with its collection of over 65,000 books, 200 periodical subscriptions and 1,800 videotapes, Community Library offers inter-library loan and adult tutoring. An active children's program includes weekly story hours and summer reading activities. Library activities in the community also include the Spring International Fair, Summer Arts and Crafts Festival and Christmas Oyster Supper. Wornstaff Memorial Public Library in Ashley serves the north county area. Books, magazines, paperbacks, newspapers and videotapes are available for sign-out. Pre-school story hour is held weekly, with a children's tutoring program and book dub added during the summer. The library also offers Adult Basic Education classes and provides a meeting room for community groups. Beeghly Library at Ohio Wesleyan is a valuable resource for all county residents. Collections include more than 400,000 volumes, 1,200 periodical subscriptions, a language laboratory, several rare book and manuscript collections and one of the oldest and largest repositories for federal documents.
